The Dirty Underbelly
Maybe I’m violating a taboo. Or maybe I am bold. Or maybe no other foodie is stupid enough to do this.
Most food blogs show you pictures of beautiful, perfectly prepared food. Some will show you beautiful kitchens, the photo of which was clearly taken moments before the action started.
I have decided that instead of the usual Before picture of my kitchen, I would show you the After picture. After the meal was prepared but before the hazmat team arrived to clean up the mess.

Dave, the worst thing about that photo is the wallpaper! (just kidding!). I’ll take you up on your challenge… Next time I cook something, I’ll do an ‘after’ photo and post it on my blog.
That wallpaper was in style in 1976 when we put it up 😉 Yup the kitchen reeks of the 1970’s, doesn’t it?
I totally love that wallpaper.
Also, way ahead of you on the giant mess photos: http://gezellig-girl.com/blog/2006/12/11/i-clean-therefore-ipod/
And that was just the *sink*.
I’m one of those cooks that cleans as I go.Don’t you just hate me?Actually, after I’ve been in there the kitchen is cleaner than when I started–am I sick or what?
I’m the hazmat team for when my boyfriend cooks–he thinks it isn’t a good meal unless he has dirtied every surface and pot.I won’t even mention the state of the counters and stove!
Hey I *did* clean as I went. What you see there is the result of the last few minutes when everything came together at once.
